The Privacy Law Salon: Dialogue with Policymakers is not a conference. It is an interactive meeting involving experienced legal peers, who will explore in small seminar-style sessions the most complex issues that are, or will soon be, on their radar. The emphasis will be on high-level discussion of emerging issues, of tomorrow’s ideas. The Salon will take place on April 2-3, 2012.

At the Dialogue with Policymakers, your peers in the privacy profession will engage in constructive discussion in an intimate setting. Joining the discussion is a group of leading agency decision makers. It will provide government and non-government representatives the opportunity to engage in full and frank dialogue, moderated by members of the organizing committee.

Four aspects of the Salon distinguish it from standard CLE privacy law conferences  –

1. The seminar-style discussion will be led by top legal academics and practitioners. There will be no lectures and no PowerPoint presentations.
2. Only those with considerable experience in this field are being invited to participate;
3. Everyone is expected to contribute to the discussion.  This is not a “sit-and-listen” type of event. 
4. The Organizers will seek and incorporate the input of the participants about what specific topics they would like to explore at the Salon.

The purpose of the Salon is to facilitate a high-level exchange of ideas and in-depth dialogue on cutting-edge and emerging issues that are vital to clients, corporations, government and the public interest.  Attendance at this conference will prepare your company or your clients for the privacy issues of the future.
